About Me…

8E3A3624I grew up in Northwest Louisiana, but have strong Cajun roots (Southern Louisiana) on both sides of my family. I  live in the Atlanta suburbs with my dentist husband and near-adult children, plus a few furry creatures.

I love to cook and I adore food. I play tennis, but don’t exercise nearly enough. I write Southern romantic women’s fiction. It’s a rare day when I run short of words. I’m a member of the Atlanta Writer’s Club, Georgia Romance Writers, and Romance Writers of America. I’m represented by Erin Niumata at Folio Literary Management.

I visit book clubs, bookstores, libraries, and literary festivals whenever I’m invited! I love to connect with readers!

I would love to hear from my readers on Facebook, Twitter, or at snsands@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

Found your blog from the NSU Alum Magazine. Looking forward to reading Again, Alabama!

    • Awesome, Erin! Look me up on Facebook. And do let me know how you like Again, Alabama! Fork ’em Demons!

  2. Laura says

Just finished Again, Alabama and I loved it! I can’t wait for your second book. Do you have any book suggestions that are similar to yours? Light, fun and just makes your want to curl up under a blanket and read? Keep up the great writing!

    • Hey Laura,

I’m thrilled you enjoyed Again, Alabama! I’m busy writing Emma’s story right now. Hopefully the wait won’t be too long. I love the same kind of books. Have you read any of Kristan Higgins’ books? She is one of my favorite authors for funny, romantic comedies. She doesn’t get too heavy with the sex scenes. They aren’t Southern but still small town. Karen White is another favorite. She isn’t quite as light a read, but hers are very heartwarming and really take you away. I love historical romances too! I adore anything written by Eloisa James. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for your kind words!

This southern gal from ‘Bama just finished Again, Alabama – which I found on BookBub btw! – and LOVED it. I’m always looking for those lovely southern themes and locations. Maureen and Anna’s stop at The Batesville General Store brought back sweet memories of times spent there with friends. Will definitely be watching for Emma’s story, as well as any others you get out there…… Keep writing!

    • This kind of comment makes me want to clap my hands in delight like a child! I did my job. Yay! The town of Ministry, Alabama is fictional, but the geography all around it is authentic. I’m from the deep South and know it well. I’m thrilled you loved Cammie and Grey’s story! Please find me on Facebook and I’ll keep you posted on Emma’s story. Thanks for taking the time to leave such a nice comment.

Cool! I am looking forward to your next book(s). I’ve enjoyed the first two very much!

  4. Is it ok for a Yankee with non-identical chromosomes to enjoy your books with sweet tea? I’m looking forward to Ben and Sabine’s story…or shouldn’t I admit that?

    • My books are non-discriminatory, Mike! Males and Yankees welcome!! It’s a safe space here, so feel free to admit your anticipation for book #3! I’m working on it now… Thanks for stopping by!

    Hello Ms. Sands-

Came upon Again, Alabama during my perusal of top free books on iBooks. Loved it! So much so, that as soon as I finished it, I bought your follow up book, Love Alabama. Now I’m on tenterhooks awaiting for Ben Laroux and Sabine O’Connors’ story. While I’m not from a small town, I savor a well written story about one. I can’t wait for your next installment on the Laroux family!

Happy writings from a new fan!

    Lea W.

p.s. I read both books in two days…I’m an admitted binge reader😁

    • Hi Lea,

I’m thrilled you enjoyed both books! I’ll keep you posted here on the blog and on my Facebook author page. Thanks for getting in touch!

  8. Shirley Shockley says

Love your Alabama books. I have lived in Alabama all of my life. When will Ben’s story be released?

    • Hi Shirley! So glad you enjoyed the Alabama series. I don’t yet have a release date for Ben and Sabine’s story, but will keep you posted here on the blog. I will also keep my author page updated on Facebook. Feel free to visit there as well!!

  9. Love your Alabama series, like the others who read them quickly was saddened that book 3 ben and Sabine is still in the works. My family is in a very small town of Alabama and it takes me back to a more slower pace of life. I could actually smell the southern air and my favorite aunt cooking. Thanks again for characters I love to invest my time in 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

    • Thanks so much, Deb! I love to go back to my small hometown in Louisiana. It makes me appreciate my childhood. I wish I could snap my fingers and deliver book 3 to you! Just know that I’m working on it, and so far, it’s been a lot of fun to write. Take care, and I’ll keep you posted!!

P.S. Thanks for the nice review on Amazon. I noticed it this afternoon! I really do appreciate your taking the time to write one.

  10. De says
