Lately, everything seems to revolve around the release
of my debut novel. My Facebook posts, my conversations with
friends and family, and my thoughts are constantly saturated with the book. I’ve been scheduling upcoming signing events, book club visits, and blogging my butt off. Who knew this would take over my life like it has? Oh, you knew that
it would? All my writer friends warned me. I guess maybe I figured things
would get busy, but I really had no idea how it would impact my summer. And this has been a digital release thus far. I’ve yet to actually do signings and face-to-face events.
I guess the lesson is: Be careful what you wish for, because you might get it! It’s been a fun ride and a dream come true, but I wish it was a little more under my control. And I’m not even a best seller. I can’t imagine what real success might look like. But I’m thankful for all the support and good wishes, and anyone who has taken the time to purchase and read my book, or write a review.
I’m writing the next book between blogs, believe it or not, and I’m still raising my kids, going on college visits, and making dinner for my family from time-to-time. My husband says my Words With Friends is suffering. He’s been forced to find new friends to play with. I’ll have to do better.
Believe it or not, I’m looking forward to my daughter getting her
I hope you all are having a fun and relaxing summer!
